Material 1.4435
Stainless bar steel in rolled or forged version, solution annealed and quenched (+AT) according to DIN EN 10088.
Material 1.4435 is one of the austenitic corrosion resistant chromium-nickel-molybdenum steels (V4A). Very high corrosion resistance makes it suitable for use in contact with corrosive media. Typical applications are in the fittings industry. Due to a very good achievable surface texture, 1.4435 is also widely used in medical technology.
Tempering or hardening of this comparatively soft material cannot take place because the austenitic structure of this material is maintained over all temperature ranges and no transformation takes place.
The solution annealed and quenched version ensures homogeneous properties defined in the relevant DIN standards.
